SPRINGFIELD, IL – George J. Nicks, Jr., 59, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2020, at St. John's Hospital.

He was born December 14, 1960, to George and Marilyn (Price) Nicks. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jeff Jones; brother, Anthony Nicks; sister, Kathleen Leach; brother-in-law, Richard Leach; and nephew, Stephen Wake.

George was formerly employed by Lake Area Disposal and was a union roofer for Local 112 for 15 years. He loved watching Illinois sports and was an avid Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, Chicago Bulls and Fighting Illini fan. He attended St. Patrick Catholic Church.

He is survived by his companion, Pat Jones; daughter, Annette Jones; grandson, Little Jay; siblings, John (Pam) Nicks, Sharon (Ray) Wake, Cindy (Rick) Gantt and Debbie (John) Wake; and several nieces and nephews.

Per George's wishes, no services will be held.
