SPRINGFIELD – Georgia L. Roberts, 79, passed away Monday, October 9, 2023, at St. John's Hospital.

She was born June 12, 1944 to Claude and Juanita (Lazenby) Shull. She married Franklin Roberts on November 2, 1961 in Springfield.  She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Evelyn; and several brothers and sisters.

Georgia worked in laundry and child care before devoting her time to caring for her grandchildren.  She most enjoyed time with family.

She is survived by her children, Gracie (Brian) Cooper, Tammy (Roy) Colston, Fred (Mary) Roberts and Georgia (Melvin) Morton; 9 grandchildren, Roy, Becky, Brian, Timmy, Abby, Matt, Mikey, Hannah and Zach; 4 great-grandchildren, Todd, Waylynn, Kinley and Glenn; sister, Margie Wright; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday October 13, 2023, at Roselawn Memorial Park with Pastor Steve Smith officiating.

Contributions may be made to Animal Protective League or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
