SPRINGFIELD, IL – Gerald R. Glaub, 81, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2018, at his home.

He was born August 31, 1937, to Robert and Ruth (Barr) Glaub. He married Barbara Emery on November 9, 1957, in Washburn. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tony Glaub; and daughter-in-law, Orbie Glaub.

Gerald retired from the Illinois Association of School Boards after 38 years. He enjoyed fishing, basketball, bowling and spending time with family, especially on family vacations.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Scott (Sue) Glaub, Lori (Tom) Kohlrus, Vincent Glaub, Ryan Glaub, Angie "Keri" (Kevin) Walters and Alex Glaub (Liz Hartley); ten grandchildren, Eric (Kara) Glaub, Jennifer Glaub, Amber Cluck, Kimberly Glaub, Christine (Adam) Lopez, Anthony (Ally) Kohlrus, Grace Walters, Emery Walters, Anna Walters and Lane Glaub; eight great-grandchildren, Hailey Glaub, Gavin Biddle, Simon Glaub, Norah Glaub, Nathalia Lopez, Mayerli Lopez, Sofia Lopez and Nadia Kohlrus; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held from noon until the time of service at 1 p.m. on Sunday, November 11, 2018, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home, with Deacon Mick Palazzolo officiating.
