SPRINGFIELD – Harold  Wayne Jackson, Sr., 63, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

He was born March 9, 1960 to Winfred J. and Janet D. (Burris) Jackson.  He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents, Henry and Estella Bunch; sister, Lori Courtney; and aunt, Royce M. Raymond.

Harold had an ear for music at a young age.  He loved singing and playing guitar, and he played in a couple of local bands.  His favorite thing was spending time with his family.  His children and grandchildren were the most important part of his life.  He was a big kid at heart and treasured every moment with them.  His favorite past time was watching the Indianapolis Colts play football.

He is survived by his children, Harold "Buddy" Jackson, Jr., Christopher Jackson, Ronald Mercer (Jennifer), Charles Mercer (Chelsea), Vernon Carlow (Jennifer) and Misty Constant (Josh); 18 grandchildren; siblings, Vicky L. Morris and Fred Jackson (Xanna); and several nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Animal Protective League.
