SPRINGFIELD, IL – Igor Goutsalenko, 64, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at his home.

He was born in Sapotkino, Belarus on January 14, 1957, to Leonid and Lubov (Demidchik) Goutsalenko. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lubov Goutsalenko.

Igor was a self-employed over the road truck driver for 20 years, retiring in 2020. He served as a lieutenant in the Soviet Army Artillery Division.

Igor was a wonderful father, husband and grandfather. He devoted his entire life in America to over-the-road trucking to make sure that his family lived in comfort and did not experience any need. For that purpose, he sacrificed a lot to become the owner/operator of his own company, Magis Transport, Inc. He was a very diligent, caring and loving person. He always put the interest of others in front of his own. Words cannot describe the depth of grief and sorrow our hearts feel with his demise. Rest in peace and Godspeed, Igor.

He is survived by his children, Alex Goutsalenko (Yulia Koguashvili) and Olga Goutsalenko, and their mother, Vera Linnik; children, Severin Goutsalenko and Michelle Goutsalenko and their mother, Elena Goutsalenko (Gerachtchenko); grandchild, Vlad Khrutski; wife, Galina Schegoleva; father, Leonid Goutsalenko; sister, Tatiana Schedrenok; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 3 – 5 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 2021, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 3, 2021, at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Please meet at the Oak Ridge main entrance on Monument Avenue at 10:50 a.m. for a procession to the gravesite.
