SPRINGFIELD, IL – Irma L. Hughs, 90, was carried by the angels to her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 10, 2021.

She was born March 2, 1931, to Jack and Ruth (Davenport) Erney.  She was preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Robert L. Hughs III.

Irma was a homemaker. She was an avid painter and pianist. She enjoyed baking, especially for her grandchildren. She took great pride in her secret recipe cinnamon rolls. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in New Berlin.

She is survived by her daughters, Ruth Lauderback, Libby Hughs and Diane Nation; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and her sister, Nellie Staley.

A private family service was held with Reverend David Benning officiating. Burial was in Sulphur Springs Cemetery, Loami.
