SPRINGFIELD – Jack S. Grant, 76, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2024, at his home.

He was born October 13, 1948 to William and Helen (Vonagus) Grant, Sr. He married Mary Jane Morris on October 13, 2001. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Duane Grant; and brothers, James Grant and William Grant, Jr.

Jack was a custodian for Springfield School District 186 retiring in 2010 after 26 years of service. He was the owner/operator of Grants Lawn Service for 35 years retiring in 2024.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane; children, Shauna Grant (Anthony Wilson), Brenda (Carl) Riech, Linda (Dennis) Norton and James Gray; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Grant; sister, Patricia (Dale) Schmitt; several nieces and nephews; and his cat, Abbe.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of a funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Friday, December 13, 2024, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
