Jacob Williamson, 49, of Ottawa, IL died at his home on July 4, 2026. Jacob was born on September 3, 1976, to Rex and Susan (Spohr) Williamson in Springfield. Jacob attended Deer Park Grade School and Ottawa Township High School. He then pursued careers as a semi-truck driver and in fiber optic installation.

Jake was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing and downhill skiing, as well as kayaking. He was a diehard St. Louis Cardinals fan, and held fast to the hope of "next year…"

Jake will be lovingly remembered for his infectious humor, loving heart and care for the land and animals (especially his beloved cats) in his life. He was an avid traveler and chose some of the most obscure places in the world to visit. Recent favorite trips were to Iceland, Puerto Rico, European Christmas markets and Portugal. Jake was never unwilling to try a new food, no matter how odd it was. He found so much enjoyment in sitting around the kitchen table at the family farm in Williamsville, talking about politics, traveling, gardening and everything under the sun.

Jacob is survived by his parents, Dr. Rex (Jennifer) Williamson of Williamsville, IL and Sue Williamson of Ottawa, IL; sisters, Rebecca Williamson, Amanda (Terry) Muffler, and Elizabeth Williamson; stepsister, Hannah (Aaron) Foss; partner, Amy Rissman; and several nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents and uncle.

Visitation will be held at Williamsville United Methodist Church on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery.
