Obituary

SPRINGFIELD – James Hamilton Boarman, 65, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at St. John's Hospital.

He was born November 28, 1958, to James L. and Patricia L. (Maloney) Boarman. He married Tina Palazzolo on October 31, 1992. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Clara Boarman and Mary Boarman; nephew, Kyle Boarman; and granddaughter, Eliza Boarman.

James was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was the founder and owner of Comic Service. He enjoyed comic books, music, and all things pop culture. He was a former member of the Pawnee Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Tina; daughter, Claire Boarman; son, James P. (Sara) Boarman; granddaughter, Anna Boarman; brothers, John (Roberta) Boarman and Glenn Boarman; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the time of Eulogies at 5 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, January 29, 2024, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
