SPRINGFIELD – James Jacob Compardo, 58, of Springfield, passed away on April 28, 2025, at his residence.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy L. and John Compardo, Jr.; his brothers, Michael A. and Thomas J. Compardo; a niece; and several aunts and uncles and grandparents.

He is survived by his sisters, Karen Blankenship (Dale), Barbara Compardo, Becky Hermes, Ginger Bricker; brother, John "Sam" Compardo (Cheryl); and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, all of Springfield, Arizona and California.

James "Jay" graduated from Southeast High School.  He worked as a land surveyor and various other jobs including lawn mowing. He loved his family and also loved his music.

Cremation is being provided by Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home, Springfield, IL.

Inurnment will take place at Mechanicsburg Cemetery, Dawson, IL in June 2025, with a private graveside committal for family and friends.
