SPRINGFIELD – James F. Hamilton, 73, passed away Monday, November 3, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

He was born October 11, 1952, to Herman H. and Mildred (Tribble) Hamilton, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Dennis Hamilton, Sr.; grandparents, Fred and Ethel Tribble and Dennis and Virginia O'Leary; his first love, Diane; and his beloved cat, Chewy.

Jim was employed with Archway Amusements and later retired from Horace Mann after 13 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and cooking for family events and his church and loved his Savior Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his children, Sarah (Jason) Head, James Hamilton, Jessica Childers and Megan Childers; grandchildren, Abbagail Roberts, Emily Head, Lillian Head and Quinci Childers; sister, Patricia (Fred) Jackson; best friend, Mary Jane Childers; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial gathering will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of a memorial service at 6 p.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2025, with Pastor Thomas Hamilton officiating.
