James Michael Pattison, 77, passed away suddenly Monday, March 17, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital ER.

He was born June 15, 1947 to Joseph and Helen (Rickart) Pattison; both of whom preceded him in death. He married Jane (Westphal) Unser on July 20, 1991, at Washington Park in Springfield.

James was a US Marine Corps veteran serving in Vietnam. He was a salesman for George A. Mueller, now known as Southern Glazer's Wine and Spirits, from which he retired. He enjoyed reading, history, politics, music and road trips.

He is survived by his wife, Jane; step-children, Michael J. Unser, Elisabeth Anne Unser and Christian Thomas Unser; step-grandchildren, Emily and Evan Unser; lifelong friends, Mary Blanner and Macklin Berry; and his canine companion, Boozer.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
