Obituary

SPRINGFIELD, IL – James G. Pinnegar, Sr., 84, passed away Monday, December 17, 2018, at Heritage Health.

He was born October 23, 1934, to Garvis and Eva Pearl (Murray) Pinnegar.  He married Wilma Lash Donaldson on November 30, 2001, in Brandon, Florida.  He was preceded in death by his siblings, Louise Brown, Margie Pinnegar, Ellene Lisanby, Mildred Cole, Chester Pinnegar, and Calvin Pinnegar.

Jim was a US Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War. He worked as a truck driver for 42 years. After retirement, he worked as a school bus driver for 7 years in Hillsborough County, Florida.  He was a deacon at Eastview Baptist Church.  He enjoyed fishing, traveling, watching football and listening to country western music. He was a well-loved and respected man who will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma; children, Linda Ruffin and James Pinnegar, Jr, (wife, Leslie Clark-Pinnegar); 7 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Maroney; two step-sons; and several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from noon until the time of service at 1 p.m. Friday, December 21, 2018, at Eastview Baptist Church, with Pastor Bennie Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
