SPRINGFIELD, IL – James Clarence "Jim" Sanges, 73, beloved husband, father and friend, passed away Monday, September 17, 2018, at Memorial Medical Center.

He was born November 3, 1944, to Clarence E. and Cornelia (Lunsford) Sanges. He married Nancy Hibbs in Springfield on September 7, 1963. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Karla Fay "Dink" Sanges.

Jim retired from the Laborers Local 477. He was an avid NASCAR and Jeff Gordon fan, St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed traveling and driving around. He always helped his neighbors with yardwork and always kept watch over his neighborhood. He loved caring for stray animals.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Jimmy Sanges and Kellie (Robert) Carlisle; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and 2 on the way; brother, Harry Sanges; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from noon until time of service at 1 p.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at the Oak Ridge Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel.
