SPRINGFIELD – James Henry Sheley, 87, passed away Monday, February 19, 2024, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

He was born November 5, 1936 to Charles and Zelma (Marks) Sheley. He married Patricia Ann Merriman on September 4, 1954. She preceded him in death in 2016.

Jim worked as an industrial engineer at Fiat-Allis, retiring in 1984. He later worked for Illinois Meter, Inc.

He is survived by his sons, Dennis James Sheley (spouse, Patricia) and Douglas Wayne Sheley (spouse, Rich Wiseman); three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Friday, February 23, 2024, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Feagans officiating. Private family burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery near Bluffs.
