SPRINGFIELD – James H. Thompson II, 47, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at his home.

He was born September 24, 1977 to James and Sharon (Kay) Thompson. He married Candice McKinney on April 25, 2009 in Springfield. He was preceded in death by his parents; dogs, Manny and Snoop; and cat, Bitty.

Jim was employed by Wyzard Cleaning Service and took great pride in his work. He enjoyed playing X-Box, fishing and cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren sharing these hobbies. He enjoyed repairing and tinkering with mowers and lawn equipment and took great pride in his yard. He loved telling old stories and sharing memories.

He is survived by his wife, Candice; children, Craig (Gabrielle) Thompson and Sierra Thompson; step-children, Brian, Zac and Ali Owens; grandchildren, Charlotte and Catherine Thompson and Braxton and Jaxon Owens; siblings, Lisa (Jim) Wyzard and Tami (Richard) Schafer, Charles Hocq and Douglas Anders; his canine companion, Lucky Dog; his feline friend, BA; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 4 – 6 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2025, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Thompson Family to assist with funeral expenses.
