KINCAID – Jeffrey H. Brinkley, 54, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Hempstead, Long Island on June 19, 1970, to Gene and Herma Maria (Gruber) Brinkley. He was preceded in death by his mother and an uncle, Junior Brinkley.

Jeff was a self-employed auto mechanic and the former owner of J&M Auto Mechanics and Brinkley Auto. He was also the founder of Spinal Cord Injury Patients (S.C.I.P.) Support Group. He was an avid fan of dirt track racing and founded Brinkley Racing LLC. He also enjoyed fishing, mud bogging, rock music and guitars.

He is survived by his daughter, Michelle (David) Casper; grandsons, Dayton Bodine, Jr. and Jaxton Casper; father, Gene Brinkley; siblings, Joe Odum, Jerry Odum, Jimmy Odum, Ronnie Odum, Mike Odum, Kimberly Morgan, Jeannie Kemnitz, Rob Brinkley and Pixie Pyles; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will host a memorial gathering from 8 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 9 a.m. Thursday, October 31, 2024, at BYO Church, 2901Sangamon Avenue, Springfield, with Pastor Calvin Miller officiating. The family encourages guests to wear rock band or dirt track racing attire. Private inurnment will be in Macon County Memorial Park at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family of Jeff Brinkley to assist with funeral expenses.
