Jeffrey L. Calhoun, 50, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

Jeffrey was born on July 24, 1975, to Thomas and Rosann (Harms) Calhoun. He was preceded in death by his father.

Jeffrey will be remembered for his sense of humor, big personality, and ability to make people laugh. He was a natural comedian who could lighten any room and bring smiles to those around him. His quick wit, playful spirit, and genuine heart made him someone people enjoyed being around.

He spent many years waiting tables, where his friendly nature and humor made him a favorite among customers and coworkers alike. Jeffrey worked hard and took pride in connecting with people, often turning everyday moments into conversations, laughs, and lasting impressions.

One of his greatest passions was working with school tour groups. He loved helping students experience new places and adventures, and he found real joy in being part of those memories. Being around kids brought out his fun, patient side, and he took pride in making their trips safe, enjoyable, and meaningful.

Jeffrey also had a deep love for animals, especially his dogs. They were his companions, his comfort, and his family. His love for them reflected his loyal, caring nature and the softness behind his humor.

Jeffrey lived life with heart, humor, and authenticity. He will be remembered for his laughter, his kindness, and the joy he brought to the lives of those who knew him.

He is survived by his mother, Rosann Calhoun; his siblings, Thomas Robert Calhoun, Samuel Scott Calhoun, and Amy Sue Rios; and several nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.

A memorial gathering will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at Chatham Cemetery.
