SPRINGFIELD – Joyce R. Engle, 64, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2025, at her home.

She was born February 21, 1961 to Ray and Emalee (Kirby) Payne, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Janice Payne; brother, Rex Payne; and her beloved cat, GG.

Joyce retired from AT&T after more than 30 years of service. She loved her cats and her birds. She enjoyed watching hummingbirds and cardinals. Above all, she cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Candice (Jim) Thompson, Brandon McKinney and Kristian McKinney; grandchildren, Brian, Zachary, Alexandria, Julia, Adelyn, Mercedes, Peyton, Baron, Isabella and Hazel; great-grandchildren, AJ, Jaxon and Braxton;  siblings, Erick (Sharon) Payne, Bryce (Colleen) Payne, Rita Payne and Beta (Jerry) Heck; her cat, TT; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 4 until 6 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2025, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Animal Protective League.
