Karen Wise Vancil, formerly of Sherman, IL, passed away on January 27, 2024, at her home in Lutz, Florida.

Karen was born in Springfield, Illinois, graduated from Williamsville High School and attended Western Illinois University. She retired from the State of Illinois Department of Insurance.

In her retirement, Karen enjoyed Florida beach days, antiquing and traveling abroad. Most importantly, she loved her time with her children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Vancil and her father, William Wise.

She is survived by her mother, Norma Jean Wise; her children, Tyson (Arica) Vancil, Scott (Jackie) Vancil, Amy (Brad) Hoch and Missy Vancil; her grandchildren, Michael Thomas, Alexandra Vancil, Myla Vancil and Gianna Hoch; her siblings, Randy Wise and Trudi Yannone, as well as many close friends.

A memorial gathering will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
