SPRINGFIELD – Kathryn H. O'Connor, 95, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025, at St. John's Hospital.

She was born July 6, 1929 to John and Kathryn H. (VanSacik) Barlick. She married Robert J. O'Connor on February 19, 1949 in Virginia, Ill. He preceded her in death in 2014. She was also preceded by her parents; son, Thomas J. O'Connor; brother, John Barlick; and granddaughter, Megan Eairheart.

Kathryn enjoyed bowling and managed King Pin Lanes for many years. She was a sports fanatic and enjoyed watching her grandchildren's games, as well as the Chicago Cubs and Bears. Kathryn loved working in her yard and was a great landscaper.

She is survived by her children, Michael O'Connor, Patrick (Robyn) O'Connor, Kathleen (Mark) Danner and Caron O'Connor; 9 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Animal Protective League or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
