SPRINGFIELD, IL – Kathy Phillips, 60, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2020, at Taylorville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born October 20, 1959, to Robert and Dolores (Hornback) Bruss. She married Terry Phillips on February 14, 1990, in Springfield. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Susan, John, Sharon, Robert and Jim.

Kathy retired from the State of Illinois after 29 years of service. She enjoyed quilting and camping and was an avid BINGO player.

She is survived by her husband, Terry; children, Matt (Erica) Bruss, Jeff (Amber) Bruss and Leonard (Melissa) Selby; six grandchildren, Brock, Hope, Hunter, Forest, Cooper and Venice; sister, Patricia Malone; brother, Paul Bruss; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 until the time of service at 11 a.m. Friday, February 7, 2020, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Hanson officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
