SPRINGFIELD – Kay Marie Philon, 60, passed away Monday, November 13, 2023, at her home.
She was born May 15, 1963, in Libertyville, to Rodger E. and Irene (Coyone) Pitstick. She was preceded in death by her father, Rodger Pitstick; mother, Irene Werner; and step-father, Michael Werner.
Kay Marie married Eric W. Fisher on June 1, 2003, in Lincolnshire.
She received her education at Libertyville High School, Augustana College, where she studied communication and psychology, and the John Marshall Law School.
She worked for many years as an attorney in Chicago, Waukegan, and Springfield, and enjoyed her membership in several local bar associations, particularly the Central Illinois Women's Bar Association and the Government Bar Association. She was a vigorous political activist, and helped out with a number of election campaigns.
She was a devoted member of St. Anthony's Greek Orthodox Church, and enjoyed the many events the church sponsored. She was a lover of great cuisine, especially Mediterranean and South/Southeast Asian dishes, and busied herself developing new recipes from the flavor profiles she found in cookbooks and on the backs of grocery packages.
