Kevin Lee Short, 66 of Springfield departed this life Tuesday, October 2, 2024.

He was born February 26, 1958 in Springfield the son of Harry Short, Jr & Gertrude Short. He married Alice Harris on October 11, 2003.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Debbie Riley.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Alice Short; his son, Steven Dey, stepson, Courtney Knapp. He was Poppy Kev to his grandchildren, Payton Knapp, Colton Knapp and Dominic Barajas. He is also survived by his brothers & sisters, Linda Morris-Cooley (Ron Cooley), Theresa Gilmore, Steve Short (Susan Short), Brian Short (Debbie Short) and several nieces and nephews.

Kevin graduated from Springfield High School in 1976 and went on to a career of self-employment as a painter and contractor. He was an avid music lover & guitar player and enjoyed the company of family and friends. Kevin impacted many lives throughout his life and many can agree that their lives were positively impacted by knowing him. Kevin had a kind heart and a great compassion to help others. He was a blessing to all who knew him and will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday October 20, 2024 11am to 1pm at the Washington Park Gazebo, please bring your lawn chair.
