King Edward Tyus touched many lives in his 67 years. King had a heart of gold and always went out his way to help family. King Edward Tyus peacefully transitioned on the evening of Tuesday August 13, 2024, at Memorial Medical Center Springfield IL, surround by his son, daughter, and some of his grandchildren.
King graduated in 1975 from Eastside High School in East St Louis IL.
King was employed at CWLP as a Lineman up until he retired a few years ago. King spent most of his time playing Chess, Dominos and going to Bible Study.
King had been an advocate for foster and adopted children since 1998.
He leaves behind his children, Sean (Wendi), Sheena, Marcus (Eboney), Quanita, Nicholas, and Bryton, who will miss him dearly.
King cherished his grandchildren, Alaira, Kourtland, Danielle, Caine, Caleb, Sean, Bradford, Yvette, King, Xavier, Andre, Cameron, Pharaoh, Sire, Mar'lasia and his Great Grandchildren Bradley, Elyana, Joel.
King enjoyed his time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
King was preceded in death by his mother, Queen Esther and father, King James.
His memory forward is his sisters Vanessa (Michael) of Shiloh, Marie (Hassan) of Chicago IL, Princella of O'Fallon IL, Dottie of Edwardsville IL. He also leaves behind numerous of nieces and nephews, family and friends who will keep his memory close to their hearts.
King enjoyed his weekly Bible Study group, and playing Chess and Dominos, at his house and various places, King loved to talk crap…that's an understatement, to know him is to know his laugh, his laughter was like the medicine.

"Remember that I am still with, continue do great in life" I'll will be there smiling upon you throughout the days, months and years to come. Lastly, hang on to the good memories and tell people that you love them as often as she can; because today is not promised.
"Enjoy life and live each day as if it is your last because none of us know the time or the hour. And most of all remember that I Love You more than you will ever know!"
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family to be dispersed to local adoption agencies.
