RIVERTON, IL – Larry G. Logsdon, 79, passed away Friday, March 26, 2021, at his home.
He was born November 28, 1941, to Glenn "King" and Florence (Vincent) Logsdon. He married Wilma "Willy" Haywood on June 24, 1972, at First Baptist Church in Springfield. He was preceded in death by his grandmother who raised him, Mildred Vincent; his parents; stepmother, Lela Logsdon; and stepbrother, Alan Logsdon.
Larry is a United States Marine Corps veteran. He worked as a brakeman, conductor and engineer for C & I M Railroad. He was a deacon at First Baptist Church and Pasfield Southern Baptist Church. He was a member of Riverton Athletic Club.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma "Willy"; twin sons, Dan (Christy) Logsdon and Doug (Elisha) Logsdon; grandchildren, Logan (Emily), Zac (Brianna) and Brody; great-grandchildren, Lane Cooper and Kingston; stepbrother, Scott Logsdon; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. Monday, March 29, 2021, at Pasfield Southern Baptist Church, with Reverend Milton Bost officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
