AUBURN, IL – Lawrence W. Catron, 93, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at Memorial Medical Center.

He was born September 19, 1927, to Henry Hardy and Jessie Faye Catron. He married Bernice L. Haferkamp on January 25, 1948. He was preceded in death by his wife; daughter, Deborah; brothers, Arthur, Carlos and Kelton; sisters, Velma and Phyllis; and step-mother, Irene.

Larry was formerly employed with Allis Chalmers and United Food Workers. He was a member of Unity Church, Capitol Area Woodworkers and Amaranth.

He was a good man and is survived by his children, Gary (Peggy) Catron, Donald (Joyce) Catron and Lori (Steve) York; 1 granddaughter; two great-granddaughters; brother, Jack; sisters, Arlyce and Leota; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held from 2-4 p.m. Monday, September 13, 2021, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home.
