Lawrence W. "Larry" Chandler, Jr. went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 29, 2022, at HSHS St. John's Hospital.

Larry was born on February 15, 1951, in Springfield, Illinois, the son of Lawrence and Magdelena (Miller) Chandler. He is survived by his wife of 50+ years, Brenda (Sanders) and their daughter, Rachel, of Springfield, Illinois and sister, Shirley (Edward) Miller of Humble, Texas, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Larry spent the majority of his working career in various aspects of the insurance business. He retired from the Horace Mann Companies in 2010 after 32 years of service in the Marketing and Information Technology Divisions of the company. He was a Microsoft Certified Engineer and was involved in the design and implementation of many critical programs/projects over those many years.

As per his wishes, his body will be cremated with burial at a later date. A gathering to celebrate Larry and his well-lived life will be held from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 14th in the lower level of St. Patrick's Church located at 1720 South Grand Avenue East in Springfield. Parking is available on the west side of the church or in the parking lot of St. Patrick's School on the east side of the church. The church is handicapped accessible.
