SPRINGFIELD, IL – Lester Penn, Jr., 64, passed away Friday, October 14, 2022, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Beckley, West Virginia on April 15, 1958, to Lester and Delores Ollie Mae (Greene) Penn. He married Jacqueline Madison on July 23, 2017, in Springfield. He was preceded in death by his mother, father; brother, Robert; and sister, Jeanie.

Lester was employed by Walmart for 14 years and later employed with Staybridge Inn and Suites. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and camping.

He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline; children, Delores, Devon, Anthony, Andre and Angela; a host of grandchildren; one great-grandchild; siblings, Marilyn, Alex, Michael, Diane, Doug and Danny; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 11 a.m. Monday, October 24, 2022, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home, with Anthony Curtis officiating.
