SPRINGFIELD – Lila Rae Johnson, 87, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Lewis Memorial Christian Village.

She was born March 8, 1937 in "Old" Berlin, IL to Ray and Harriette (Jones) Good. She married Albert Casper in 1953; together they raised five children and later divorced. She married Dale Johnson in 1984; he preceded her in death in 2011. She was also preceded by her parents; daughter, Sandra (Casper) Wilson; son, Anthony Casper; grandson, Brandon Casper; brothers, Ray, Daniel, Stanley, Norman and John Good and Edison Cesar, Jr.; and sister, Elizabeth Cesar.

Lila attended Lanphier High School and worked for the State of Illinois for 26 years, retiring as a Corporate Bankruptcy Specialist for the IL Department of Revenue.  She enjoyed gardening, was a master seamstress, loving caretaker of her husband, Dale, loved all of her family and ADORED her grandchildren.

She is survived by three of her children, Jean Ann (Al) Fitts, Timothy (Joan) Casper, and Bradley (Debra) Casper; son-in-law, Scott Wilson;  stepsons, Kevin (Jeanette) Johnson and Mark (Denise) Johnson; 10 grandchildren: Michael Cowden (Jair Lopez), Rachel (Mark) Maher, Melanie (Rodney) Hashman, TJ Casper, Nicholas Casper, Courtney Casper, Ryan (Holly) Wilson, Darren (Lauren) Wilson, Scotty (Michelle) Wilson, and Carly (William) Scarbrough; 5 step-grandchildren, Ashley, Courtney, Katelyn, Mark and Brandon; and 9 great-grandchildren, Aiden Seemiller, Brady Maher, Ashleigh Maher, Joseph Hashman, Eden Lynn Wilson, Lainey James Casper, Oliver Liam Zettle, Hunter and Brody Johnson; sisters, Gloria (Larry) Smith and Patricia (late Robert Sr.) Powers; several nieces, nephews, cousins and her forever-friend, Barb Holzhauer.

Private services were held.
