SPRINGFIELD – Lillian B. Burton, 96, passed away Friday, September 20, 2024, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

She was born December 19, 1927 to William H. and Rutha B. (Redford) Burton. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dallas Burton; 2 grandchildren; 3 sisters; 3 brothers; and a nephew, Chester Rooks.

Lillian enjoyed sewing, cooking, making crepe paper flowers, working outdoors and restoring furniture.

She is survived by her children, Ronald (Gail) Burton, Roger (Denise) Burton, Janet (Tom) Eberhardt and Jeannie (Wayne) Roberts; special nieces, Doris J. Seales and Mildred Shelton; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Friday, September 27, 2024, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home. Private inurnment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
