SPRINGFIELD, IL – Linda M. Gehringer Collins, 70, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021.

She was born in Findlay, Ohio, on June 22, 1950, to Willis B. and Gwendolyn (Tremaine) Tooman. She married Steve Collins in Florissant, Missouri in 2005. She was preceded in death by her husband; father, Willis; and brother, Willis E. "Bill" Tooman.

Linda was a cake decorator for many years. She was previously employed by Pillsbury, Lincoln Land Community College and University of Illinois, Springfield. In the St. Louis area, she was previously employed by Covidien, Vi Jon and Monsanto. She enjoyed listening to Celtic music and painting.

She is survived by her children, Jason (Cathy) McAfee, Danielle (Tony) Johnson and Chris (Monica) McAfee; grandchildren, Curtis Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Chase McAfee, Joseph McAfee and Olivia McAfee; great-grandson, Weston Johnson; sister, Darlene (Keven) Krone; brothers, Allen Brieschke and David Keene; foster sisters, Rosanne Calhoun and Melissa Harms; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 6, 2021, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home, with Pastor Larry Hanson officiating.
