SPRINGFIELD, IL – Linda L. Cox, 70, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2020, at Sunrise Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Virden.

She was born July 17, 1949, to Harry and Ruth (Vilniskis) Yates. She married Scott Cox on June 8, 1999. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Becky Bumgardner; and brother, Tony.

Linda enjoyed fishing, softball, crocheting and bowling. She loved her plants, watching the Cubs and Illini play and watching movies.

She is survived by her children, Ruth Kriener, Rex (Tonya) Packingham, Tracy (Tom) Merz and Amber (Andy) Powell; twelve grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; siblings, Jerry Yates and Pat Sams; and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at South Tower Community Church.
