SPRINGFIELD, IL – Linda C. McCarty, 68, passed away Thursday, November 8, 2018, at St. John's Hospice.

She was born January 18, 1950, to Cecil and Mary Jo (Collier) Weller. She married Richard McCarty on June 27, 1986, in Springfield. She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Jennifer Jordan; parents, Mary Jo (David) Nugent and Cecil Weller; brothers, Anthony and Kevin Weller; and grandparents, Walter and Zoah Welch.

Linda was the administrative secretary for housekeeping at St. John's Hospital retiring after 38 years. She was a member of Real Life Church and was active with their VBS and was a Sunday school teacher. She was crafty, enjoyed romantic comedies and was an Elvis fan. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Lori (Scott) Dunn, William Jordan, Jr. and Melissa (Aaron) Beard; grandchildren, Daniel, Zoey and Wyatt; siblings, Judy (Jerry) Miller, Jill Weller, Julie Weller, Joan (Timothy) Albrecht, Bonnie Jordan, Barbara Paul and Linda Park; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home, with Reverend Clint Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
