SPRINGFIELD, IL – Linda S. Traughber, 69, passed away Thursday, November 2, 2017, at her home.

She was born September 29, 1948, to James and Opal (Burnett) Wilson. She married Dale Traughber on May 11, 1991, in Springfield. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Patricia Strong.

Linda retired from Capitol Healthcare and had previously worked at Capitol Care Nursing Home, Franny's Bar, Biggie's & Bubba's and Channel 20. She enjoyed scrapbooking, beading, cooking, gardening, manicuring, telling stories and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She loved her dog, Casper.

She is survived by her husband, Dale; son, Todd Weir; step-son, Brian (Jessica) Traughber; grandchildren, Tayler, Troy and Tanner Weir, Stella Stone and Gavin Traughber; siblings, James (Marge) Wilson and Judy Shade; nieces, Cyndi Brown, Tami Havens, Shelley Farris and Heather Gibson and nephews, Bret Shade and Ben Strong.

Memorial Gathering and Service: 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 18, 2017, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home, with Pastor Dennis Hamilton officiating.
