SPRINGFIELD, IL – Maria Graves, 94, passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021, at Memorial Medical Center.

She was born in Germany on October 12, 1926, to Peter and Barbara Metz. She married William E. Graves in 1949, in Germany and he preceded her in death. A son, Jack; and granddaughter, Pamela Leet-Hoekzema also preceded her in death.

Maria was previously employed with the St. Nicholas Hotel. She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

She is survived by her children, William (Mary) Graves, Harold Graves and Terry (Cathy) Graves; grandchildren, Chris Graves, Tim (Cassie) Graves, Lori (James) Gray, Tiffany (Rob) Wester and Nicole Graves; and seven great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
