Obituary

SPRINGFIELD, IL – Marjorie "Marge" A. Jorgensen, 85, passed away Monday, February 25, 2019, at St. Joseph's Home.

She was born January 4, 1934, to Michael and Anna (Kopjo) Burns. She married Elmer Jorgensen on January 16, 1954, at St. Joseph Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, SSgt. Patrick Moose; brothers, Michael and Robert Burns; and stepsister, Frannie Hopper.

Marjorie was a graduate of Ursuline Academy and employed at St. John's Hospital for 25 years. She was a member of the St. John's Hospital Samaritans and a life-time member of Beta Sigma Phi. She enjoyed traveling and loved to volunteer.

She is survived by her children, Linda (Steve) Buhman, Julie Peart, Helen (Dave) Moose, Ruth Jorgensen, Theresa Jorgensen (David Dobbs) and James (Krissy) Lawley; grandchildren, Michael and Amy Buhman, Anne and Elizabeth Moose and Aidin Jorgensen; sisters, Mary Ellen Vetter, Rose Hergenrother and Betty Hardin; sister-in-law, Pat Newquist; and several nieces and nephews.

Per Marjorie's request, no services are planned.
