PETERSBURG – Mark R. Cass, 61, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025.

He was born in Springfield on July 2, 1963. He was preceded in passing by his parents, Herschel and Wilma Cass. He married his wife, Aimee, in Las Vegas on August 5, 2008.

Mark was employed with Springfield Memorial Hospital for over 30 years. He was a member of West Side Christian Church. He enjoyed mowing his lawn and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Miami Dolphins fan. There was nothing he loved more than watching his children play sports.

He is survived by his wife, Aimee; children, Calob Cass, Maeleigh-Caye Cass, Heather (Jamie) Anders, Curtis (Christine) Cass, Lynsie Benning, Jakob Benning and Rylee Zike; grandchildren, Braydon, Lakyn, Zayne, Oliver, Carson and Hartlan; siblings, Paul (Mary) Cass, James (Rhondalea) Cass, Barbara (Charlie) Rogers and Lee Cass; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home.
