SPRINGFIELD – Mark Robert McCauley, 73, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2025, at his home.

He was born December 22, 1951, to Robert and Yvonne (Young) McCauley, both of whom preceded him in death. His brother, David, also preceded him in death.

Mark was a US Marine Corps veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He was a computer programmer for Cassens Transport, retiring in 2018 after 22 years of service. He enjoyed collecting and shooting guns, flying drones, music, history and animals of all kinds.

He is survived by his children, Christopher (Stephanie) McCauley, Lisa McCauley (Ben Beams) and Lauren Link; and grandchildren, Brieana McCauley (Aaron Anderson), Marina McCauley (Mar) and Rose McCauley.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 29, 2025 at Camp Butler National Cemetery, with funeral honors rendered by the Department of Defense – Marine Corps and the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
