SPRINGFIELD – Mark A. Rockwood, 72, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Springfield Memorial Hospital.

He was born November 18, 1953, to John and Garnett (McGavic) Rockwood, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his son, John Rockwood; and brothers, James Rockwood, Bruce Rockwood and Richard Rockwood.

Mark loved music, cars and motorcycles.

He is survived by his wife, Karen McClanahan; children, Lakota (Corey) Jachino and Stephen Rockwood; grandchildren, Ella and Ava Jachino; sisters, Betsy Newingham and Ellen Underwood; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday, January 25, 2026, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow from 3:30 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the VFW Post 755, 2211 Old Jacksonville Road, Springfield.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Animal Protective League.
