SPRINGFIELD – Mark E. Schooley, 56, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2026, at his home.

He was born in Creve Coeur, Missouri, on April 22, 1970, to Donald and Kay (Robertson) Schooley. He married Christine Spann on May 7, 2010, in Springfield.

Mark was employed by BlueCross BlueShield for many years. He loved cars and computer gaming. He cherished time spent with his family, especially hosting summer cook outs and swimming in the pool. He was a faithful member of West Side Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Christine; children, Katie Schooley, Kyle Schooley (Atheena), Patrick Spann (Hannah), Tyler Spann and Brandon Spann; grandchildren, Aidyn Kent, Lily Kent, Logan Kent, Ronyn Fleming and Lilliana Spann; and parents, Donald Schooley and Kay Schooley.

Mark was preceded in death by his sister, Lori Ann Rogers; and brother-in-law, Jason Mills.

Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, August 7, 2026, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 13, 2026, at the West Side Christian Church Auditorium.
