Obituary

SPRINGFIELD – Mary Lou Larsen, 86, passed away Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Springfield Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.

She was born in New Castle, PA on June 22, 1939, to Louis and Edith (Lamberti) Ezzo, both of whom preceded her in death. An infant daughter, Ann Marie, also preceded her in death. Mary Lou married Roger Larsen in 1960 at All Souls Catholic Church in Abingdon, IL.

Mary Lou was previously employed at Knox College, Knox County Fairgrounds and Pinkerton's Detective Agency. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. She was a Eucharistic minister and volunteered at many nursing homes. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing solitaire. She loved to cook and cherished time spent with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Roger; children, Chris Larsen and Amy McCrery (Lantz McCrery, MD); grandchildren, Cassandra (Dan) Styczynski, Derreck McCrery, Lexi McCrery and Nick Larsen; great-grandson, Liam; brother, Anthony Sunny) Ezzo; sister, Toni (Tom) Sheridan; and many nieces and nephews who loved their Aunt Mary and she cherished each and every one of them.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Monday, February 9, 2026, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Springfield, IL. A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. in Abingdon Cemetery in Abingdon, IL.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
