Mary Lou Lovell, 74, passed away Friday, September 23, 2022, at her home.

She was born September 29, 1947, to Robert C. and Mabel (Brooks) VanDeusen. She married Ronald S. Lovell in 1991 at Third Presbyterian Church in Springfield. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert; and a brother, Bobby VanDeusen.

Mary Lou retired from the Illinois Department of Revenue after 32 years of service.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald; sons, John (Tiffany) Summer and Robert Summer; grandsons, Zachary Summer and Kyle Summer; great-granddaughter, Olivia Summer; step-daughter, Tammy Wayne; step-grandson, Jason Wayne; mother, Mabel (VanDeusen) Chestnut; and sister, Patti (James) Stephens.

A memorial gathering will be held from 5 p.m. until the time of a memorial service at 6 p.m. Thursday, September 29, 2022, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home with Reverend Ken Gennicks officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or charity of choice.
