SPRINGFIELD – Mary Ellen Perry, 72, passed away Friday, April 3, 2026, at St. John's Hospital.

She was born May 6, 1953, to Robert and Pelagia (Michalecka) Wall. She was preceded in death by her sister, Maggie Page; brother, Joseph Wall; and niece, Shannon Jones. She married James Perry on March 12, 1982, in Springfield.

Mary retired from the state of Illinois and was a member of St. Cabrini Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening and traveling.

She is survived by her husband, Jim; sons, James N. (Kimberly) Perry and Jeffrey R. Perry; grandsons, Tanner, Anthony and Donovan; brother, Thomas Wall; sister, Bets Jones; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home.
