SPRINGFIELD, IL – Mary Beth Reese, 77, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2019 at St. John's Hospice.

She was born July 9, 1942, to Charles and Opal (Taapken) Burton.  She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Donald Reese; granddaughter, Nicole Maxey; sister, Charlotte Free; and brother, Frank Burton.

Mary Beth was homemaker.  She enjoyed cooking, reading, shopping and spending time with family.

She is survived by her children, Debra Reese, James "Brian" (Jennifer) Reese and Angela (Charlie) Morse; grandchildren, Misty Blake, Brittany Sutton, Heather McGrew, Steven Nutaut, Michael Husemann, Angela Reese, Ashley Reese, Dalton Reese and Makayla Arnold; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Hanson officiating.  Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery, Petersburg.
