SPRINGFIELD – Maryellen Rodems, 72, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

She was born February 28, 1954, to Robert J. and Mary Jane (Sexton) Rodems, both of whom preceded her in death.

Ellen was a registered nurse at St. John’s Hospital, retiring after 40+ years of service. She enjoyed snow skiing, water skiing and swimming. She was a loving sister, daughter and aunt and cherished time spent with her nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her brothers, Robert K. Rodems, John D. (Sandra) Rodems and Dennis L. (Kathleen) Rodems; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held from 11:30 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 12:30 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2026, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home Pastor Clint Cook officiating. Inurnment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
