SPRINGFIELD, IL - Michael D. Fay, 87, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2021, at Heritage Manor.

He was born September 12, 1933, to James and Sarah (Colwell) Fay. He married Elizabeth Stone on August 24, 1958, in Williamsville. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and sisters, Elizabeth Mogenson and Rosemary Gooch.

Michael was a U.S. Navy veteran. He retired from the State of Illinois and was an avid reader.

He is survived by his children, Mary (Ernest) Nudo, Mark (Elaine) Fay, Patricia (Eric) Wittle and Kenneth Fay (fiancé, Pam Renoud); grandchildren, Alexis, Sabrina, Gina, Chandler, Michael and Benjamin; great-grandchildren, Izabell, Akeelah, Malcolm, Griffin, Laila, Claire, Morgan, Devin Jr., Charlotte, Seamus and Henry; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. John Shear officiating.  Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
