SPRINGFIELD, IL – Michael A. Ginger, 64, passed away Friday, June 7, 2019, at Memorial Medical Center.

He was born December 10, 1954, to Harvey and Evelyn (Lass) Ginger; both of whom preceded him in death. A brother, Ricky Ginger, and sister, Wilma Jean Ginger, also preceded him in death.

Michael was a US Marine Corps veteran. He retired from the Illinois Department of Corrections and was a member of the American Legion in Taylorville.

He is survived by his brothers, Charles Ginger, Bill Ginger, Dennis Schneider, David Hendricks and Frank Pleshe; sisters, Wanda Sullivan, Judith Hamm and Carol Cole; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of service at noon Thursday, June 13, 2019, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Gifford officiating. Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
