SPRINGFIELD – Michael W. Green, 81, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at his home.

He was born July 21, 1943 to Paul and Ruth (Homer) Green. He married Patricia Johnson in Los Angeles, CA in 1965.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John; and sister, Joyce.

Mike was a US Navy veteran serving from 1961 to 1967. He was employed by Pillsbury Mills until their closing and later worked as a realtor. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and playing poker. He was a member of the Eagles Club and VFW Post 755.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; children, Michael A. (Shelley) Green and Charlotte (Jeff) Kappen; grandchildren, Bailey, Ryan, Hayden, Cameron and Paige; siblings, Paul (Diana) Green, David (companion, Mary) Green, Lora (Jay) Marr, Elaine (Larry) Byers, Tim Green; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 11:45 a.m. until the time of service at 12:45 p.m. Monday, August 5, 2024, at Vancil-Murphy Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Hanson officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery.
