ILLIOPOLIS, IL – Michael W. Koonce, 22, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018.

He was born November 21, 1996, to Jeremy Newman and Angela Koonce. He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Carroll Koonce.

Michael was employed with Noodle Queen and was a member of the 217 Group. He was an avid sports fan who loved baseball and basketball. He loved playing with his son.

He is survived by his son, Kohbe; mother, Angela (Keith) Hillen; father, Jeremy Newman; siblings, Blaytn, Marisa, Devin, Brady and Kayla (fiancé, Kyle); grandparents, Rodney and Judy Koonce, Frank and Marilyn Newman and Henry and Vickie Hillen; great-grandparents, Mary Koonce and Darrell and Nancy Edwards; niece, Aubrey; nephew, Brendon; and several aunts and uncles, including, Amanda and Eric Manon, Jared and Kiley Koonce and Chris Newman.

Visitation: 5-7 p.m. Thursday, November 29, 2018, at Riverton Christian Church.

Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Friday, November 30, 2018, at Riverton Christian Church with Pastor Brian Atwell officiating. Burial will be in Long Point Cemetery, Niantic.
